Introduction
The LAX-HLC-21 is a high-performance and reliable hotel load converter designed for 3-phase WAP-7 locomotives. It efficiently converts single-phase 960V power to 750V 3-phase power, making it an ideal solution for Indian Railways. Engineered for energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and minimal maintenance, this converter enhances railway operations while ensuring long-term reliability.
System Overview
The LAX-HLC-21 draws single-phase power from the locomotive’s main transformer hotel load winding. Using an IGBT-based line converter, it stabilizes DC link voltage at 1800VDC, independent of input fluctuations. A 3-phase inverter then converts this DC power into a 750V AC sine wave output through Space Vector PWM waveforms, ensuring low harmonic distortion with the help of a sine filter. Input and output contactors provide safe isolation from the power source and connected loads.
