Introduction
The LAX2000 E3 is a microcontroller-based speed cum energy recorder designed exclusively for Electric locomotives and Electric multiple units (EMU). It monitors crucial locomotive parameters with high reliability and accuracy, providing real-time data to the operator. The recorded data is vital for post-incident analysis and monitoring the performance of the locomotive driver. The system includes audio-visual alarms on deviations from specified parameters to trigger immediate corrective actions.
System Overview
The LAX2000 E3 operates using signals generated from the speed sensor mounted on the axle along with dynamic braking and coasting. The microcontroller computes and records speed, distance and energy parameters continuously to inbuilt memory and an external memory card. The system also features communication between the Master and slave units located at driver cabs using RS485 protocol. The unit includes an LCD display, keypad, and provides audio-visual alerts when specified parameters deviate from acceptable values.
